CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Cubs rewarded young baseball players who are also good students Thursday as part of the fourth annual Urban Baseball Classic at Jackie Robinson Park.

"These players are not only excellent baseball players, they're fine young men," Cubs president Thoe Epstein said. "They're here because they work hard in the classroom and stay in school."

Teen athletes from Chicago and Boston played in a three-game tournament.

Activities continues Thursday night with the "Hot stove cool music" concert with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder taking the stage.

The Foundation to be Named Later organized the event. The organization's mission aims to promote positive youth development through baseball.
