CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA is adding bus service and longer trains Saturday and Sunday for spectators heading to the Air & Water Show along the lakefront. It is also warning Brown Line customers to plan for extra travel time due to weekend track closure between Kimball & Western.

The Air & Water Show takes places along the lakefront from Oak Street Beach to Fullerton from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

People taking the Brown Line are strongly encouraged to plan for an extra 15-20 minutes of travel time due to the temporary suspension of rail service between Kimball and Western stations for scheduled track work. Free bus shuttles will operate in both directions between those stations.

To accommodate the increase in travelers due to the Air & Water shows, longer trains with higher capacity will operate on the Blue, Brown, Orange and Green lines from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Additional bus service will be provided on the #72 North Avenue and #151 Sheridan bus routes. For more information on taking public transportation to and from the show, visit transitchicago.com.
