Body found in Des Plaines River, officials say

MAYWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A body was found in the Des Plains River Friday afternoon, police said.

The body was found near Washington Street and First Avenue in Maywood, Ill., around 1 p.m. on Friday, officials said.

Illinois State Police officials responded after someone reported finding a body floating in the river.

Authorities are working to identify the body. The incident is under investigation.
