Eisenhower Expressway crash near Oakley Blvd. injures 5 including child, 1 critically, CFD says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Five people including a child were injured, one of them critically, in a crash on the Eisenhower Expressway Friday afternoon, the Chicago Fire Department said.

The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. on I-290 near Oakley Boulevard. CFD said four people, including the child, were taken to hospitals in serious condition. One person was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Officials have not released any details about what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved.

All lanes were initially blocked but have since reopened. Some traffic delays may persist.
