SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was found shot to death after a rollover crash on an expressway in the south suburbs, Illinois State Police said.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. on Saturday on the inbound Bishop Ford Freeway near East 170th Street in South Holland.
The man died from his injuries, police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the man as 50-year-old Eric Satterwhite.
The victim's daughter, Nakia Satterwhite shared a statement with ABC7:
"I want you to know that I loved my Dad. We talk several times a day. We always laughed with each other. He was a excellent father to me and my brothers. He was the life of the party. Whether enjoying birthday parties , hanging with his Simeon Alums, or enjoying being around family and friends. He was a hard worker that provided for his wife, me, my brothers and his grandkids. He also provided guidance to his many nieces and nephews. My dad was one of the good guys. When I lost my brother in 2010 to gun violence, my dad was my rock that I could always talk to. We are crushed by this tragic incident and pray that justice prevails. I will forever miss him because I was daddy's little girl. Love you Dad!"
A portion of the expressway along with the ramp from I-294 and I-80 ramp to northbound I-94 was shutdown while police investigate. The expressway was reopened by 5 a.m. Sunday.
No further information was immediately available.
