Man, 45, killed in Gary hit-and-run, police say

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- A 45-year-old man was killed in what police believe was a hit-and-run crash in Gary, police said.

The man's body was found in the southbound lanes of Martin Luther King Drive south of I-80/94 around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Lake County Coroner's officials identify him as Romeo Etienne, and he was pronounced dead on-scene.

Police believe the vehicle allegedly fled the area after the crash, though they do not have any information about the vehicle.
