CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed one person in the city's Portage Park neighborhood.
Police say a van and a Honda Civic were speeding eastbound in the 5400-block of West Irving Park Road around 2 a.m. Saturday when the two collided, sending the Honda Civic into a tree and killing its driver.
The people who were inside the van allegedly fled the scene, police said.
No one is in custody and investigators are looking into whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
One neighbor says speeding has been a problem along Irving Park Road for awhile.
"They added the speed cameras down the block, people used to fly up and down this strip, it's really wide. It's really dangerous," said Steve Betancourt.
