2 killed in I-80 crash in Tinley Park

TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A man and woman were killed early Sunday in a crash on Interstate 80 in south suburban Tinley Park, according to the Illinois State Police.

Timothy J. Hampton-Cofield, 22, of Chicago, and Shantonia T. Giles, 26, of University Park, were identified as the victims, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Both victims were in a vehicle that was involved in a crash with a semi truck in the westbound lanes of I-80, just east of LaGrange Road.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday.

State police are investigating. Autopsies are scheduled for Monday.
