Metra train engine catches fire near Morton Grove

An engine caught fire on an outbound Metra Milwaukee District North Line train near the Morton Grove station.

MORTON GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- An engine caught fire on an outbound Metra Milwaukee District North Line train near the Morton Grove station.

Metra spokesperson Meg Riele said one of the traction motors in the engine caught fire Tuesday night on Train #2149, scheduled to arrive in Fox Lake at 8:36 p.m.

Passengers got off the train in Morton Grove and were eventually picked up by another train. No one was hurt.
