HOUSTON -- A 5-year-old boy is dead after a crash Monday morning on Homestead Road near Little York Road in northeast Houston.

The boy, as well as a 6-month-old, a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old were also in the car with their mother.

Three of the children are in stable condition. The mother managed to make it out and is expected to be OK.

Witnesses who pulled the children out of the vehicle said the mother ran a red light, and slid into the utility pole down the road. That information has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
