CHICAGO -- A local Chicago nonprofit community news gathering agency is changing the way Chicagoans report and read their news.

City Bureau was founded by four Chicagoans: Darryl Holliday, Bettina Chang, Andrea Hart, and Harry Backlund. The newsroom was originally developed to focus and report on city policing in the community.

The organization has a mentorship program for young inner-city reporters. One of those young reporters is Chelsea Berry, who most recently participated in the program.

City Bureau launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 by the end of August. The funds will be utilized to create a brand new newsroom on Chicago's South Side.
