CHICAGO (WLS) -- The children of Chicago's Avalon neighborhood have two new playgrounds to enjoy.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other community members on Sunday celebrated the completion of the two refurbished playgrounds at Debow Park and Lorraine Dixon Park.
They feature slides, swings, spinners and climbing equipment.
The playgrounds are among 300 others the city is working to either repair or refurbish over a five-year period as part of the mayor's Chicago Plays! program.
