Mane in Heaven is hosting its annual 5K Trot-a-Thon on Sept. 20.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- The non-profit group Mane in Heaven provides therapy mini-horses to disabled and able-bodied children and adults. The horses visit in the hospital and at home all free of charge.

Now Mane in Heaven needs your help. On Sunday, Sept. 20, the group is hosting their annual 5K Trot-a-Thon. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. at Silver Lining Equestrian, located at 1109 Pyott Road in Lake of the Hills, Ill. Registration is just $35, and begins at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the race.
