Semi hits transmission line pole in Stickney

STICKNEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A semi truck hit a transmission line pole on Ed Meyer Road just north of the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) in west suburban Stickney.

Chopper 7 HD was over the scene west of Central Avenue just before 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. The pole landed on top of the truck.

Authorities said after the crash, power went out in the immediate area, which is mainly industrial. But Com Ed crews were able to make repairs and restore power.

No injuries were reported.
