A machete-wielding man is facing a hate crime charge after trying to kill someone over money, police said.
Investigators say the stabbing was the result of an apparent turf dispute between people selling items in the Times Square area, and multiple people were taken into custody.
Some were hacked to death with machetes while others died when their dormitories were set on fire, said military spokesman Felix Kulayigye.
Pictures from court documents show an employee reportedly jamming a foot inside a revolving door to keep Delaney from getting inside.
The suspect told police he shouted "Allahu Akbar" before attacking the NYPD officers with a knife, sources said.
"Unprovoked, a 19-year-old male approached an officer and attempted to strike him over the head with a machete," the NYPD commissioner said. "The male then struck two additional officers in the head with the machete."
