The photos, posted on the Sea Girt Lifeguards Twitter page, show the massive fog bank that closely resembles a large ocean wave. The National Weather Service addressed the fog bank, saying that it was caused by warm air condensing over cold ocean water. The fog bank lined up just perfectly with the coastline, creating the ominous appearance.
The strange looking fog phenomenon caused excitement in the meteorology community.
Mother Nature was really showing off yesterday with the special effects. Coolest fog photo ever. pic.twitter.com/wX0QBTC2qQ
