Tech Smart

This week, the company 'Livescribe' debuts its new Pulse Smartpen.

The device is a computer within a pen that captures handwriting and simultaneously records audio.

Then the Pulse synchronizes it with writing so users never miss a word they hear, write or speak.

It's priced at $149. The Smartpen is available for pre-order on Livescribe's website, livescribe.com/smartpen/index.html

$20,000 coffeemaker

A San Francisco coffee house has purchased a pricey coffeemaker to serve its fine caffeine aficionados.

The machine costs $20,000 and is reportedly the only halogen-powered model in the U.S.

James Feeman of the Blue Bottle Cafe says it gives him better control of temperature and other parts of the coffee brewing process. His customers are paying $9 to $11 for an 18-ounce pot.

They say the brew has subtle, distinct flavors much like wine. For more information, check out the cafe's site bluebottlecoffee.net
