Para transit riders are fighting a fare increase, which doubles the cost of the service.A group representing disabled riders has filed a complaint with the Illinois attorney general. They also plan to file a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the increase.

Right now, the cost of a monthly pass is $75. On Friday, it goes up to 150 dollars.

Pace operates the Para transit service and says it had to raise fares so that 10 percent of its fare revenue would pay for the service as required by state law.
