A $5,000 reward is being offered for the arrest of an armed bank robber dubbed the "backpack bandit".The FBI believes the man in these surveillance photos is responsible for at least three bank robberies in the far west suburbs from March of this year.

The most recent robbery took place at the Fifth-Third Bank branch in Elburn.

After announcing the robbery, the offender placed a backpack on the counter and demanded cash. No shots were fired and he fled on foot.

Police believe he also robbed a Midwest Bank and Trust in Union and the Castle Bank branch in Huntley. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chicago FBI.
