Cook County State's Attorney Dick Devine has a new job waiting for him when he leaves office in December. Devine, who is now 65, has reached an agreement with the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP to head up the litigation department of its Chicago office.

Devine is retiring after 12 years as the county's top prosecutor.

Devine's deputy, Anita Alvarez, is facing Republican Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica in the November race to succeed him.
