Stable owner, employees accused of abuse

The owner and an employee of a south suburban horse stable are accused of abusing their animals.Police say Frank Lee owns the Bar-L stable in Unincorporated Bloom Township and Donnie Edwards is a caretaker there. The men are charged with felony aggravated animal abuse.

The Cook County sheriff's police arrested the men Monday. They raided the stable July 28 and say they found four horses living in deplorable conditions.

Two of the animals were euthanized because of their poor health.
