Possible link between marijuana and cancer

February 9, 2009 A study of more then 360 men in the journal Cancer finds being a regular pot smoker doubled the risk compared to those who never smoked.

The results also suggest marijuana use may be linked to the most aggressive form of the cancer. The study from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is the first to look specifically at marijuana use in relation to the disease.

Researchers are not sure what it is about marijuana use that may raise the risk. They say more research is needed to confirm the findings.
