In comparison to Chicago, Tokyo's Olympic leaders threw a much smaller party for members of the International Olympic Committee on the last night of their inspection tour. The low-key affair was held at the official government guest house on the grounds of a palace in Japan. Only 28 guests were invited to dine with the 13-member IOC team. Japan's prime minister attended, along with several local Olympians.
Also saturday, the head of the Japanese Olympic Committee told the IOC his country will live up to its promise to fully fund the Games.
IOC members were expected to wrap up their tour of Japan Sunday and that's when the public will get to hear their impressions of Tokyo's Olympic bid.
