Certain foods help in cancer battle

April 22, 2009 Researchers at the University of Chicago Medical Center found that combining grapefruit juice with an anti-cancer medicine rapamycin made the drug more potent.

A separate study found that walnuts provide people with omega three fatty acids, antioxidants and phytosterols that cut the risk of breast cancer.

Another study shows drinking wine may increase survival among patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

These studies were presented this week at the American Association for Cancer Research meeting.
