May 1, 2009 Andy North, two-time U.S. Open Champion and golf commentator for ABC and ESPN is promoting the first ever Andy North & Friends Golf Classic June 6 - 8, an event to benefit one of the leading cancer research centers in the nation - the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Event to Benefit the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center

Two champion golfers, an award-winning golf course and one of the nation's premier waterpark resorts have teamed together in the fight against cancer. Trappers Turn Golf Club and Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. have announced they will host the first-ever Andy North & Friends Golf Classic June 6 - 8 to benefit the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. The benefit features Tom Watson, two time winner of the Masters as well as a U.S. Open and British Open champion. Inspired by Andy North, Trappers Turn and Kalahari Resorts, this inaugural event is designed to raise money and awareness for one of the leading cancer research centers in the United States.

The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC), the only comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin designated by the National Cancer Institute, unites more than 280 physicians and scientists who work together in translating discoveries from research laboratories into new treatments that benefit cancer patients.

As part of the Andy North & Friends Golf Classic to benefit the UWCCC, golfers will enjoy an exclusive weekend getaway package that includes two rounds at Trappers Turn Golf Club, a dinner party with Andy North and Tom Watson, a golf clinic given by Andy North and Tom Watson, continental breakfast and hors d'oeuvres reception, a chance to win more than $10,000 in prizes and much more. Golfers will also receive a two-night stay at Kalahari Resort making this event great for the entire family. The total package cost is $2,000 per person and the event is limited to 108 golfers.

A dinner only ticket for Sunday, June 7 will also be available for $125. The evening will end with a musical tribute to Old Blue Eyes and Old Red Eyes - Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, featuring the Dry Martinis.
