Chicago police are searching for suspects in the deadly shooting of a West Side storeowner. It happened Thursday night on North Avenue near Cicero. Investigators think the storeowner, Mike Norton, 55, of Glen Ellyn, was killed during an attempted robbery.

Witnesses say they spotted three men running out of the store following the shooting.

Word of Norton's death was a shock to his longtime customers.

"It was just a senseless death. It was so senseless because, again, he helped everyone. He didn't deserve to die like that," said Tawana Anderson, customer.

"It's hard. Whoever did it, they need to come up there and say who did it," said Deon James, customer.

Police are working on getting a description of the suspects.
