A north suburban man thanked the people who helped save his life more than a week ago.Al Stensrud lives in Mundelein. On Tuesday, he visited the paramedics at the Countryside Fire Protection District Station and brought them some food.

On May 8, Stensrud had a heart attack in his home. Paramedics revived the 47-year-old and brought him back to life.

"They responded in six minutes and at that point when you are having complications obviously time is important and they made every minute count," said Al Stensrud.

"It was a team effort from his wife calling 911 to our dispatch, sending the appropriate equipment to the call," said Mike Lynn, paramedic.

Stensrud underwent heart surgery and is still recovering. He says he'll continue to feed the paramedics who saved his life.
