Chicago officer indicted for rights violation

July 1, 2009 Craig Swistowicz has been an officer for 12 years. He is accused of striking an arrestee in September of 2007 while on a drug enforcement task force.

If convicted, the officer could face up to a $250,000 fine, 10 years' prison time and three years' probation.

Chicago's Independent Police Review Authority assisted in the investigation with federal officials.
