The new Harry Potter film is casting its spell on Chicagoland. "The Half-Blood Prince" debuted at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. Enthusiastic Potter fans flew over to the AMC River East Theater in downtown Chicago to be among the first to see it. The movie is already conjuring up a big fan base in town.

"It hit all the major points. They came up with new things that weren't in the book, but I thoroughly approved of all of it," said Laura Howard, Harry Potter fan.

"I loved it. It's so much different from the book, even though this one was more focused on love. But it was just amazing," said Justin Burns, Harry Potter fan.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is the sixth film from the mega-popular J.K. Rowling book series.
