2nd Annual Chicago Criterium

July 23, 2009 The Chicago Criterium, was recently namedthe best criterium in the u.s by usa cycling.

Start/finish line is at Buckingham Fountain racing starts at 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The all-day event features 10 professional and amateur criterium bike races on a closed circuit loop, approximately 1.1 mile in length with the start/finish line at Buckingham Fountain.

Best described as NASCAR on bikes

Spectators are captivated with the fast paced straight-aways, tight 90-degree turns and the occasional pile up in the heart of grant park.

Kids' big wheel race - free
Open to kids from ages 2-7,
2 p.m. on Bucking Fountain Plaza
All kids receive a helmet, medal and t-shirt while supplies last
Ride your own big wheel or one can be provided

ENTERTAINMENT THROUGHOUT THE DAY:

At the stage located on Buckingham Fountain the Tom Fuller Band, Schwinntonation and the Mogo Hand Band will perform.

The DK Student Show and the Jesse White Tumblers will excite crowds with their action packed shows which will be located near Columbus and Congress.

We recommend riding your bike down and park it for free at blue cross blue shield bike valet or taking public transportation
