Mayor Daley will be at the White House on Wednesday for an event promoting Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Olympics.Representatives from Chicago 2016, the US Olympic Committee as well as a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes will also be on hand.

Mayor Daley says President Obama has been doing everything possible to bring the Olympics to the US.

First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Denmark for next month's announcement of the 2016 host city. But the question remains whether the president will also be there.

"Everyone hopes. I mean, let's be realistic. I don't care who you are you do hope. But you don't want to put the pressure on him that he feels like he's going to avoid something. He has to figure out his schedule. I know it's very important. But we always have hope for that," said Daley.

ABC7's Ben Bradley will be in Washington on Wednesday for the White House event. He'll have live reports beginning on our news at 4 o'clock.
