September 23, 2009 (SKOKIE, Ill.) --Residents of the northern suburbs had a chance to voice their opinions on Wednesday night on the proposed extension of the CTA Yellow Line. Under the plan the line would continue to near the Old Orchard shopping center in Skokie. It currently ends at Dempster.
The CTA held a public meeting in Skokie to discuss the purpose of the proposal, the environmental impact and alternatives to the plan.
If the extension gets the final okay, the plan is to have it in operation by 2016.
