Rush University Medical Center is requiring all employees, students, volunteers and contractors to get flu shots this season. On Thursday, the hospital hosted a 'mass vaccination day.' Anyone with a Rush ID could get a flu shot free of charge.

In the past, the flu shots were voluntary. But the hospital decided that wasn't enough this year.

The H1N1 shot will also be required if enough of the vaccine is available.

Employees, volunteers and students who object to getting the vaccine for medical, religious or cultural reasons will be able to request an exemption.
