Good workout may help battle flu

Research has shown that exercise boosts activity in various parts of the immune system that help limit viral attack. It may also clear an invading virus from the body more quickly. A study in mice seems to back that up. Animals who exercised regularly developed less severe symptoms when infected with the flu.

The research in the Journal of Infectious Diseases also suggests that exercise right before flu infection provides some protection against severe symptoms.
