December 10, 2009 (CHICAGO) --Chicago police say an officer was hit by a car while attempting to stop the driver. Officers responded by shooting the suspect. It happened about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday In the 1700-block of North Moody. Police say officers were doing narcotics surveillance when they saw a suspect get into a car and drive away.
When officers tried to stop the car, they say the driver accelerated and hit one of the officers. That's when police shot the suspect. He's said to be in very critical condition. The officer is in good condition.
