June 1, 2010 (CHICAGO) --Expect another showdown at the Cook County Board meeting Tuesday as commissioners attempt to override President Todd Stroger's veto of a second measure to limit his power. Following some controversial new hires, the board approved an ordinance that would require Stroger to seek the commissioners' approval for any new pay hikes or pay cuts.
Stroger vetoed it. Commissioners will attempt to get a super majority to override Stroger's veto.
Last month, the board failed to override Stroger's veto of another measure limiting his ability to hire and fire.
