The victim, identified as 29-year-old Darryl Brownridge of Chicago, was hit in the northbound lanes of the expressway near 147th Street just before 2 a.m.
Authorities say, before he was hit, Brownridge was seen outside an SUV on the shoulder of the expressway near the site of the crash arguing with a woman who might have been his girlfriend.
Police say they are looking for that woman.
