Police say Bjorn Roland fled a crash on Route 34 and fired a gun several times toward a Kendall County Sheriff's deputy who was looking for him.
When the deputy got out of his squad to take cover Roland reportedly got into the squad car and drove off.
Investigators say he struck a Plano police vehicle and fled again.
Roland eventually got out of the vehicle where he allegedly confronted and threatened officers. He was shot and pronounced dead at a hospital.
