A northwest Indiana family is looking for answers in an unsolved murder that happened four years ago Saturday.Willie Smith Jr., 69, of Merrillville, Indiana was killed while leaving a friend's birthday party on Chicago's South Side.

Saturday, members of Cook County Crimestoppers passed out flyers in the 200-block of East Garfield near the murder scene.

Police say someone walked up to Smith, demanded his wallet, then shot him.

Crimestoppers has passed out flyers before. The group hopes this year that the killer will finally be taken off the streets.

"The family keeps trying to find out what's going on. And it's just year after year; it's wearing on them. And we need the community to help us on this," said George McDade of the Cook County Crimestoppers.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Chicago police or Cook County Crimestoppers at 1-800-535-STOP.
