September 6, 2010 (CHICAGO) --The 'Queen of Gospel' Albertina Walker is now resting after she became ill.Last Sunday, Walker celebrated her 81st birthday. Friends say she soon experienced difficulty breathing and was admitted to an undisclosed hospital with weak lungs.
Her manager says she is doing well and needs to rest from a very busy schedule. He would not say if she is still hospitalized.
Albertina Walker was born in Chicago. She founded the Caravans in the 1950s and went on to have a legendary solo career.
