Bond set for man charged in hit-and-run

Bond is set at $100,000 for 24-year-old Jason Bergmann, charged in a hit and run accident outside a Southwest Side polling place on election day.

Bond is set at $100,000 for 24-year-old Jason Bergmann, charged in a hit and run accident outside a Southwest Side polling place on Election Day.

The 48-year-old victim is the brother of State Sen. Tony Munoz. The senator said his brother is recovering after surgery.

The accident happened in the 4800-block of South Archer on Tuesday.

Bergmann is also charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian in the roadway.
