Chicago police say they seized nearly $5 million in drugs on the city's Southwest Side.

During an afternoon news conference Sunday, police Supt. Jody Weis called the drug recovery a significant blow to the drug trade in the city.

Police responded Friday to a call of a suspicious vehicle near 33rd Street and Pulaski. Inside, they found 21 kilograms of heroin and 13 kilograms of cocaine. Some of the drug packages were found hidden in the car's door panels.

No arrests had been announced Sunday.
