Labor, businesses to back Ricketts' Wrigley plan

November 15, 2010 (CHICAGO) Last week, Ricketts said he wanted the state to sell $300 million in bonds to finance improvements at the ball park.

The money would also pay for the development of the nearby Triangle Building.

Ricketts wants to pay back the bonds with money raised with part of the amusement tax paid on each ticket to a Cubs game.

Both Mayor Richard M. Daley and Governor Pat Quinn are skeptical of the plan.

Ricketts says it will generate billions in economic growth and create hundreds of jobs.
