NewsViews: Urban League leader Andrea Zopp

Almost three months ago, Andrea Zopp took office as president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Urban League. She succeeded Cheryle Jackson, who lost a U.S. Senate race.

Zopp is a former first assistant Cook County state's attorney. She then served as deputy general counsel at Sara Lee Corporation, senior vice president at Sears Holdings Corporation, and executive vice president at Exelon Corporation.

Zopp has a law degree from Harvard University. She's married, has three children, and lives on Chicago's South Side.

The Chicago Urban League was established in 1916. It promotes civil rights, economic empowerment, and educational and social progress.
