Opera singer Angela Mannino performs on ABC 7

Based on a story in Dante's The Divine Comedy, Gianni Schicchi concerns a wealthy old man, Buoso Donati, who dies leaving all his possessions to the local monastery. His furious relatives persuade Gianni Schicchi to impersonate the dead man and to dictate a new will. Soprano, Angela Mannino, who debuted this past season at both Lyric Opera of Chicago and Metropolitan Opera, sings the beautiful and famous aria, "O mio babbino caro" (Oh, my dear papa).

Featured artists include alumni from Lyric Opera of Chicago's Ryan Opera Center include Corey Crider, Angela Mannino and Kathryn Leemhuis who join Chicago Opera Theatre's young artist, Jorge Prego, as the ensemble principals in Gianni Schicchi along with the internationally-acclaimed stage director Jonathon Field.
