South Side fire critically injures 1

Firefighters rescued a person from a burning building on Chicago's South Side.

This happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 87th and Wabash.

The flames started on the first floor of a two-and-a-half story building, and then spread to the second floor.

The person who was rescued was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are now trying to figure out how the fire started
