Ex-Bear joins Snoop Dogg's football board

March 5, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) also has a new, high powered executive board that includes former Chicago Bears player Otis Wilson.

Four new chapters have been added in neighborhoods around the city.

The expansion of SYFL is in direct response to the violence affecting Chicago's youth.

"I really want all the young folks out there, if you're listening or watching, to please, this is not something just to pass our time. We're committed, we're serious," said Wilson said.

Chicago is the first city outside California to host the league.

Snoop Dogg started the league seven years ago in south central Los Angeles. He brought it to Chicago last year.
