Just four years ago, women had an average of 19 pairs.
Thirteen percent of women own more than 30 pairs.
Analysts say shopping remains a feel-good recreation, and shoe shopping doesn't require getting naked in front of a dressing room mirror. And these days, almost 40 percent of footwear is purchased online, making it even more tempting to indulge.
Only 8 percent of women wear high heels on a regular basis. Sixty percent bring along flats when they do go for those stilettos.
