Blackhawks win, Bulls win, fans react

The Bulls are just one game away from sweeping their series with the Indiana Pacers. They will go for the sweep Saturday afternoon in Game 4. Thursday night, it was Derrick Rose to the rescue, as he hit a shot with 17 seconds left to give the Bulls the lead for good. The Bulls win 88-84 and lead the series 3-0.

As soon as the Bulls won, the Blackhawks faced off in Vancouver, and they once again dominated the Canucks, Winning 5-0. The Hawks are now just one game from evening up the series. Game 6 is Sunday at the United Center.

Bulls fans are talking sweep now and Blackhawks fans have renewed hope of a comeback. Many stayed up last night to watch the Blackhawks punish the Canucks in Vancouver and the Bulls beat the Pacers to extend their seasons.

Despite Friday's rain, the basketball and hockey gods are sending light to the city of Chicago, which rallies around its teams.

Take one look around and you'll see a Hawks helmet on the famous Picasso at the Daley Center or the statue of a man hailing a cab at the Four Seasons Hotel clad in a Bulls jersey.

Blackhawks pictures have are hanging on a building at the corner of Michigan and Wacker and the two Dragons outside the Peninsula hotel are wrapped up in playoff spirit.

"There's a lot of potential with Derrick Rose. It just seems like the whole team is really young, energy. It's exciting for the city," said Chicago sports fan Gau Bodepudi.

Now that the Hawks have cut the series deficit to one game, the Stanley Cup champs still have life.

And, to make it even sweeter, the Bulls are near a Pacers sweep.

"When I was a kid in the mid-1990's, the Bulls just owning six straight years of championships. It's time that we bring that back," said Bulls fan Jack Bentley.

The Bulls are still on the road. They will play Game 4 Saturday in Indiana, and the Blackhawks will come home and play Vancouver at the United Center on Sunday .

It should be an exciting sports weekend.
