The 20-year-old has made it into the top three finalists on "American Idol" this season and is enjoying a brief trip home for the weekend.

Following a parade to Wheeling's City Hall, the village's President Judy Abruscato proclaimed Saturday Haley Reinhart Day. Abruscato says the 20-year-old Reinhart's success has been an "inspiration."

The bluesy singer performed at Arlington Park Racetrack Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Last year's "Idol" winner Lee Dewyze, who's from Mount Prospect, had a similar experience

The other two "American Idol" finalists are 17-year-old country crooner Scotty McCreery of Garner, N.C., and soaring 16-year-old songstress Lauren Alania of Rossville, Ga.
